MMGSoftball Fundraiser at Legacy on 05/19/16

MMGSoftball family,

Once again, we would like to acknowledge and congratulate our entire league on an amazing season. We acknowledge everyone’s outstanding efforts and accomplishments and look forward to how we can best represent, promote, and grow our family.

Part of that comes with post-season all-star play. Our coaches and managers have gone through the difficult process and done their best to assemble a group of girls to help represent us. While we would love to include everyone, both budgets and rules put a limit on us.

However our team doesn’t only exist on the field, MMGSoftball is tight-knit family. We live in the community. We hope that you will join us in celebrating and supporting our all-star teams at a fundraiser on Thursday May 19, 2016 at Legacy Brewing Tap & Kitchen from 6:00pm-9:00pm.

Simply come by and let your server/bartender know you are with Mira Mesa Girls Softball and 20% of your bill will be generously donated to our league.

Although it’s not required, we would really like to see some participation and have everyone wear their Mira Mesa Girls Softball uniforms and related gear and snap a picture with your server, or the bartender, or the manager on site. Post the picture to your preferred social media platform, check-in to Legacy Brewing Tap & Kitchen, and make sure to tag the post with #mmgsoftball and @legacybrewingtapnkitchen.

2016 All-Stars Tryouts & Selections


Tryouts for all-stars are this week.

If your child is interested, please have your child arrive at the specified time on their designated evaluation day. Make sure they wear athletic practice apparel, NO JEANS OR SHORTS. In addition, players must have their helmets, gloves and bats with them. If they play catcher and have their own gear, please have them bring it as well or a set will be available if needed.

We hope to keep the evaluations quick and smooth so please be on time to ensure this can happen. Check-in for tryouts is at 4:30pm with tryouts running from 5pm-7pm at Hourglass Park, Field 5. Each division’s tryouts are on the following dates:

  • 8U: Mon. 05/02/16
  • 10U: Tues. 05/03/16

Players will be evaluated on the following:

  • Overall performance observed throughout the Spring 2016 season
  • Evaluation performance
  • Commitment per the application (if any dates of absence are noted)

Please note that with several players trying out for a limited number of positions, our managers and coaches have very tough decisions on their plates. Not everyone can make it. Make sure to talk with your children and ensure them that if they are not selected, there is no reason to get discouraged. It should serve as a motivation to try harder for next season.

Once the draft has been completed an email will be sent out to all players notifying them of their all-star status.
